Yes, for the apps. The source code for the Unstoppable Code desktop and mobile apps is public on GitHub under the MIT License. Our hosted services, such as accounts and cloud features, stay closed source.
What's published
The source lives in the unstoppable-code repository on GitHub. It holds two apps:
- The desktop app for macOS and Windows.
- The mobile app for iOS and Android.
We publish source for releases and, between releases, as development snapshots of our latest code. Release source has a tag, and snapshots don't. Source publishing runs on its own schedule, so the newest tagged source can be an earlier version than the app you download.
What the license lets you do
The MIT License covers the first-party source of both apps. You can read it, audit it, build it, change it, and fork it under the license's terms. Third-party code and assets in the repository keep their own licenses, listed in each app's THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt.
The license is about the source code. Using the app you download is a separate question, and the answer is in Is Unstoppable Code free?
Build it yourself
Each app's folder in the repository has a README with what to install and which commands to run. A build from source is for reading, auditing, and changing the app, and it differs from the app you download. Each README lists those differences.
To use the app day to day, get it from the download page instead. See Install the desktop app.
Report a bug or share an idea
Issues are welcome. Open an issue and pick the bug report or idea form. If you built the app from source, say so and name the commit or source tag you built.
We don't accept pull requests or code patches. Any pull request opened in the repository closes automatically, and we build every fix ourselves, so a clear description helps us most. You're welcome to fork the source and change it under the license.
Found a security problem? Don't open a public issue. Contact support instead, with the app version or source tag, your platform, and the steps to reproduce it.
For questions about using the app, search the help center or contact support.
