Find past chats and files

Work in Unstoppable Code keeps your chats and files, so you can find past work instead of scrolling for it. Use Search to find a chat by its title or by something said in it. Use Find File to open a note, attachment, or other file by its name.

Before you start

Find a past chat

  1. Select Search, the magnifying-glass button at the top of the sidebar, or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows). If you're signed out, Search is a row near the top of the sidebar instead. Before you type, it shows your recent chats.
  2. Type a word from the chat's title or from the conversation.
  3. Look through the results. They are grouped into sections:
    • Chats lists chats with a matching title.
    • Archived and deleted lists tasks you archived or deleted.
    • In content lists chats where your words appear in a message. This section always comes last.
  4. Select a result to open it. An archived or deleted chat or task has an Archived or Deleted badge, and it opens so you can read its history.

Search looks across all the projects in your sidebar, not only the one you have open. The results can also include other parts of the app, such as plugins and settings.

What Search can and can't find

Search matches chat titles and the text of your chats, including what the agent's tools returned. It does not look inside your notes, prompts, or attachments. To open one of those, use Find File below.

A deleted chat stays in Search only until it is deleted permanently. To change how long a project keeps deleted chats, see Organize a Work project.

Find a file in a Work project

A Work project keeps its files in one folder: the files the agent creates, plus your notes, prompts, and attachments. Find File searches that folder by file name.

  1. In the sidebar, open any task in your Work project. Find File needs an open task.
  2. Press ⌘P (Ctrl+P on Windows). You can also open Search (the magnifying glass at the top of the sidebar, or ⌘K), type "find file", and select Find File.
  3. Type part of the file name.
  4. Select the file, or press Enter. It opens in a file tab.

Find a word in an open chat or file

To find text in a chat or file you have open, press ⌘F (Ctrl+F on Windows). A find bar opens over it.

Look through one project's archive

To see only the archived and deleted tasks of one project, select Archived and deleted under that project in the sidebar. Type in the Search archived and deleted box to narrow the list. From there you can restore a task. See Fork and archive chats.
