What is Work in Unstoppable Code?

Work in Unstoppable Code is for tasks that are not code, such as writing, research, planning, and reports. A Work project keeps your chats and what they share in one place, so you don't explain the same background in every new chat.

Desktop app only. You create and organize Work projects in the desktop app. From Remote Control in a browser or the mobile app, you can continue their chats or start new ones.

In the app, Work projects use the Cowork label. You make one by choosing the Cowork project type. The Work page shows what Work is built for.

What a Work project holds

A Work project holds as many tasks as you need, and each task can hold several chats. Each task shows under the project in the sidebar, and the New task button on the project's row starts another. The agent works in the project's folder, and the files it creates are saved there.

Every chat in the project shares the rest:

  • Instructions in the project's settings apply to every chat, such as your audience, your tone, or the format you want.
  • Notes keep what you know about the project. Mention a note in any chat to point the agent to it.
  • Prompts save requests you make often. Mention a prompt, and its text goes into your message.
  • Attachments are files you add for the agent to read and work with.
  • Plugins in the project's settings turn on tools from Marketplace, such as plugins, skills, and MCP servers, for every chat. Some let the agent work in your other apps.

The Chats section above your projects is a built-in Work project, for chats that don't belong anywhere else.

What a Work project does not have

A Work project has no git repository, so it has no worktrees, branches, or pull requests. Tools that need a repository, such as Plan mode and hooks, are for Code projects. When a task involves a codebase, use a Code project instead. Start your first project lists the project types.

Work projects and Work mode

Work mode is a separate app setting that uses plain language and keeps developer controls one step away. See Choose Code or Work mode.

The two don't depend on each other. You can create and use a Work project in either mode, and switching modes doesn't change your projects.
