Settings worth reviewing once

Most of Unstoppable Code works well with its defaults. A few settings shape every task you run, so it's worth checking them once, early. This article points out those settings and where to find them.

Open Settings with the gear beside your name at the bottom of the sidebar, or press ⌘, (Ctrl+, on Windows). The settings pages are grouped under Personal, Agents, Integrations, Workflow, and Advanced.

Accounts and models

  • Accounts is where you connect the Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor subscription your agents run on. You can also turn on Free daily AI Credits here. See Connect your AI models and AI credits and usage limits.
  • Models sets the model each new chat starts with. Default code model applies to worktree chats, and Default chat model to new chats that aren't in a worktree, such as chats in Work in Unstoppable Code. Under Feature models, you pick the models for the app's helper jobs, such as naming chats, parsing plans, and code review. See Set default models.
  • Approvals sets how often an agent asks before it acts. See Choose an approval mode.

Branch names and pull requests

When a task gets a worktree, the app names its branch for you. Under Git, in the Branch naming section, you can set a Branch name prefix, such as your initials, and choose the Branch naming model and its Branch naming instructions.

In the Pull requests section of the same page, choose the PR generation model and add PR instructions for how pull request titles and descriptions are written. Turn on Split PR to have the app offer to split a large pull request into smaller, stacked ones. Split PR threshold sets how many changed lines it takes before the offer appears.

Notifications

Notifications controls how the app tells you something happened. Set In-app notifications and OS notifications, then use Categories to choose which events show a banner and which send an OS notification. When you're signed in, the same page also has Work digests.

Privacy

Under Privacy, Activity sharing decides whether the app uploads your agent activity to your account, and who can see it. Nothing is shared until you choose to. You decide for each kind of data, such as plans or transcripts. See Choose what activity you share.

Display

Display sets how the app looks. Under Appearance, choose the Color mode, Theme, and Interface scale. Chat detail sets how much of an agent's work a chat shows: Detailed, Recent, or Compact. Under Layout, select Customize… next to Sidebar items to choose what the sidebar shows, and set the Project layout, Scrollbars, and Worktree diff stats.

Mode

Under General, Mode switches the app between Code mode and Work mode. See Choose Code or Work mode.

A project's start page

Each project can choose the first tab that opens in each new worktree. In the sidebar, open the project's menu and choose Project settings, then go to Start page. Under Open on start, keep New chat (default), or choose A file… or A web page….

Labs

Labs, in the Advanced group, lists experimental features and extra pages. They stay off until you turn them on.
